I’ve found the ability to re-use this, but I am having trouble understanding exactly how to do so. I’d like to change all of the “onSaveInstanceState” to something more sensible (in the real code I am using a game’s save, and hence I’m saving object references for them). I also need some other methods, such as finding out if there is a preference to be changed, and the preference’s name. I’ll need to handle the changed preference. I have only read the Android docs so far, and searched everywhere, with no luck. This is how I am doing it now, but it doesn’t quite work. Please help me understand! public class PreferencePref extends PreferenceFragment { private SharedPreferences pref; private SharedPreferences.OnSharedPreferenceChangeListener prefChangeListener; private SharedPreferences.OnSharedPreferenceChangeListener prefChangeListener1; private String prefName; public PreferencePref(){ SharedPreferences settings = getPreferenceManager().getSharedPreferences(“prefName”, MODE_PRIVATE); prefName = settings.getString(“prefName”, “name of the preference”); } @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); addPreferencesFromResource(R.xml.pre

An exciting new era in Tower Defense begins with Man the Guns!Q: Question concerning “p-adic” valuations of square roots Let $\mathbb{Q}_p$ be the $p$-adic completion of the rational numbers $\mathbb{Q}$ and $\mathbb{Z}_p$ the $p$-adic integers $\mathbb{Z}$ and let $p$ be a prime. There is an additive map $\mathbb{Q}_p \rightarrow \mathbb{R}$ defined by $p^kx \mapsto k$. Why does this map induce a valuation on $\mathbb{Q}_p$? (I also refer to the first two definitions of $p$-adic valuations in Wikipedia.) A: I think your question is why is this map an extended valuation? The $p$-adic valuation on $\mathbb Q$ is defined via the identity $p^k \in \mathbb Q \mapsto k \in \mathbb Z$ on $\mathbb Q$ and extended to $\mathbb Q_p$ by $p^k \in \mathbb Q_p \mapsto k \in \mathbb Z$. I think that the answer to that is just because $p^k \in \mathbb Q_p$ can be expressed as $p^{k-1}(p-1)$, and the extended valuation map is $(p-1) \mapsto -1$. A calculation (for any $x \in \mathbb Q_p$) $$p^k\sqrt{x}
