My first digital game was “Ocean’s Puzzle”, but soon moved on to 3D and flash games. I like to create and design games for a living. The pixelated animation in this game is inspired by both Super Mario Bros. and Donkey Kong. Inspiration: I started this game as a side project while I was working at Kongregate, and it came from a passion for action games. It also came from seeing a lot of really cool experiments and features that we haven’t touched. I also like the look of 4x games – but there’s just so much you can do with a turn-based game on a 2d grid! It’s pretty difficult to describe exactly how to play, since I think what makes the game fun is that it’s sort of self-evident. Of course, if you’re expecting a Super Mario Bros. clone, you’re not going to be quite as successful. The idea is to spend less time moving around so you can pay attention to the enemy and loot drops. I expect that you may get some criticism for the combat system. It’s a bit unique and definitely unusual to balance around. I personally feel that the ideas here are good, but don’t quite work in practice. There’s also a lot that could be improved, from making the gameplay more accessible to using better balancing. That’s pretty much it. What is multi-touch support? I play the game using a mid-range Apple iPad, and I’d say it works pretty well, with the caveat that it only detects the first finger currently. It’s a pretty simple game. All you need to do is move, click, and hit the enemy to kill them. They will not give up easily, and you will have to keep building up blocks around them to kill them, or use a powerup to bypass that requirement. There is also a “Survival” mode, where you just try to get as many times as you can by sitting tight in a single area, instead of moving around the arena. The rate at which you get powerups is completely random – you may find yourself walking for a long time with nothing happening. So this is definitely a game with high replayability. That being said, one of the major problems with multi-touch (as a user) is that you tend to have your hand in a bunch of different places, and so you try to hit and drag your finger around, which creates a lot of frustration. The monster placement does change as you play, so that should hopefully help a little bit with this. How

Every time you try, you just get directed back to the main game screen, which is fun because if you were to play in a browser running on Windows OS, then you’d be able to play without crashing your whole computer. Architecture This game is very well designed for what it is. The three main features are that it’s a multiplayer game, it’s in 3D, and it’s very open source which is cool, if the physics are implemented correctly, then it’s possible to bend things up which makes the game especially fun. Not only does it do all that, it does all those things right and what I did find was that it’s probably one of the most extensive games that are based off the Quake engine and how these things work. If you take a look at the file structure, you’ll see that there are really eight main areas that you can mess with. Inside of these eight areas are the directory for the menu entries, the directory for the player creation, the directory for the community games, the directory of the html pages, the directory for the events and the directory for the level creation. Each directory has its own sub-directories for most of these so that it becomes nice and organized. There are no real classes or interfaces that work, just pure functions, so there are no terms like “class” or “interface” or “method” to describe everything because it’s all just structures used to pass data around and it’s
