It is no secret that there are a lot of stories in Phata Poster Nikhla Hero. They all carry a resemblance of the previous film. However, this movie has a great amount of wit and bad taste. The director should do one on the directorial duties. When Shahid Kapoor says he is a criminal, he makes him out to be a criminal in the film. The director has taken the opportunity and done that. Though Shahid Kapoor attempts to go all unconventional, it just doesnt work. We still end up seeing the protagonist in the director’s film.
Before you start ripping this latest Bollywood from a dustbin, know that it’s not as bad as its reviews would imply. The plot, as usual, revolves around the bonds of friendship among three young men (Shahid, Ileana, Raghav) and their wayward adventures on both town and country roads.On-screen chemistry is uneven and its kind of unknown quantity. Though the location work is pretty decent, the script doesn’t offer any surprises. The film doesn’t have any killer background score and the songs, though more often than not, fit the bill, don’t feel like an integral part of the story.To watch at the cinema, and save your buck, stay on the bridge with PHATA POSTER NIKHLA HERO. But plan to spend an equal amount of time in the back and front rooms of your DVD player.

Didn’t really have a problem with the debutant director. I used to think that as a team, they knew their craft and that went a long way.
