i have a windows 10 anniversary edition on a 15″ retina macbook pro. when i take still images, the image doesn’t record a green bar at the bottom of the screen, which i believe means the device is recording video. if i use windows media player, i see that it is currently recording the video, but it only records a fraction of the screen at a time. after a few seconds, it stops and asks “file #x failed to record.”, and then the video stops recording. one more thing: in a windows update, i got the new sr and mr updates; and windows update would remove the device driver for my device for a while. then it would be back on the driver list. so sometimes the device would work for a while, only to fail after a while. microsoft lifecam 50391: the qa team should have better tested this product because it failed in every aspect of the usual tests. the recording doesnt function properly, the microphone is almost unusable and the camera itself is a joke. it is impossible to adjust and image very well at full size. and if you want to use skype, check to see if your webcam is supported in skype 7, because it wont be any time soon. i have a very similar problem with the microsoft lifecam cinema x. i get the annoying microphone noise and the clear image problem. for me, it is very common for both of these problems to happen at the same time. any attempts to disable the microphone noise make it worse, as the camera just tries to compensate for it. the included drivers are surprisingly half-baked. i will be happy to confirm my findings, but it seems to me that there are either many owners of this device that share the same issues, or that there is a serious problem with the device that was simply not caught by microsoft. i think it is a good idea for other users to try these drivers and confirm the compatibility before buying the device. its a cheap webcam for a good price, but i would not recommend it. 5ec8ef588b
