The LTS Linux Projects is a collection of several Linux distributions with long-term support. These Linux distros include OpenSUSE Leap, Debian Wheezy, Arch Linux, Ubuntu Studio, Ubuntu Saucy and later versions, Arch Linux Cauldron (feature match of OpenSUSE Leap), Panda Linux (based on RedHat release 6), Kali Linux, Sabayon Linux, Mandriva Linux, CubianOS and Mepis. Each of these distributions provides a complete Linux desktop. The latest release of NanoBSD is NanoBSD 10, released on Dec 30, 2018.

4 11.2. Managing Sessions If the plan is to use the Linux system for your NoMachine session using NX, the first step is to manage the sessions on the system. The Terminal Server allows several session types including interactive and remote session. Remote sessions are supported by NX and VNC, while interactive sessions are supported by NX. The interactive session type is the most common used by NoMachine users for remote desktop sessions. Interacitive sessions are started from a shell prompt, desktop or “shell client”. In this scenario, you access the system through a user session and the connection to the remote desktop is established from the session. Remote sessions are different because you need to use the nxnode program to connect to the remote desktop server. In this case, you are connecting directly to the remote server to access its desktop. Terminal Server Sessions To manage sessions for a NoMachine Terminal Server, select the Session Type of the intended sessions in the Administrative View as illustrated in the following screenshot. Using the System Logging Facilities Redirecting Logs to a Custom File The Nx Server provides several different logging facilities in an attempt to consolidate system logging into a single file. These systems allow for remote logging, remote access to logging details and remote access to system logs. They are based on rsyslog and are as follows: _AUTH_LOG Level_: Log levels available. _ADMIN_LOG_ Level_: Log levels available. _DB_LOG_ Level_: Log levels available. 1. Redirecting the Terminal Server System Messages to a File If you are going to use the NoMachine Terminal Server on a system that is already in production, it is important to make sure that the server is always working correctly. This can be performed using the official administration tool of NoMachine Terminal Server or by using the built-in system monitoring tools on Linux. In this case, the built-in tools and the official administration tools are not enough, and you need to take care of monitoring the logs files on your system. Page 7 of 77 If you have an existing machine, you can use the other option, which will install WSL alongside the operating system you’re installing it on. This way you will not have to remove the preinstalled operating system to install WSL. The advantage of this method is that you will not have to rebuild or partition your hard drive. This option will be the same for all supported Linux distributions. Depending on the OS you download, it might be a separate ISO file or it might be a self-contained package file. The Windows Recovery Environment will load the UEFI firmware Setup.aml file. You need to “Proceed with Recommended Settings” when the message pops up.
