in many ways, the gameplay is similar to the street fighter series, and yet it is the tag-matching mechanic that makes neowave stand out. in the game, three characters that are chosen by the cpu fight against each other in a single-round fight. as the round begins, all three characters are stacked into one large single character, which resembles a sprite when fighting. the size of the characters, and the number of hits they receive, vary based on the position of each character, and the amount of health each character has. the cpu-controlled characters have a number of tag-moves that are activated when their health bar is completely depleted. the amount of hits the cpu character receives varies based on how close the cpu character is to being knocked out, and is determined by how much damage the cpu has taken, and how much health the cpu has. the cpu characters are also more likely to take damage from the hits the characters deal to them. the cpu characters also have a special tag-attack which drains the health bar of the character they hit, and removes it entirely if they are hit by a special attack.
easily the biggest game to come out this year, and for many the biggest game to come out of any year, neowave has received universal praise from critics and fans alike. the return to the series of returning fighters is a welcome addition to the long-running series, and the competitive online play is a breath of fresh air for these games. the fans are even enjoying a resurgence of the “dream match” concept that was popular in the 90s. it’s probably the most anticipated fighting game of the year. be careful if you download this game, you might find yourself adding it to your favourites, not knowing you might then feel the need to add it to your library in case you ever want to play it again, in fact, dont even buy it because you can get it from torrent sites for free. i guess its not totally bad, but a better option might be to go to a local arcade and play the neogeo version of the game. the neo geo version is the only way to play this game. downloading it from torrent sites is just not something we would recommend. but hey, its a free game with the option to buy extras like a full remake of the arcade version, ps2 and xbox versions, and an “international” version. if you decide to download this game, please, please, please download it from the mega repo, which is the official repository of the bittorrent site, and not from other sites such as kickass, where you might end up with something other than the original. all the new characters have been created by takeshi inaba, the creator of the king of fighters series. the best thing is that they are all pretty good, and are so much more interesting than the standard neogeo characters. some of the new characters look really cool, especially seth, which is a blind character. the art is not very good but it could be worse. some of the new background images are really good, but sometimes it does look like its just a low quality ps2 picture. the graphics are pretty good, but you can’t do much with them. when it comes to the audio, the music is nice and catchy and that’s good. the background music is annoying, and i don’t even know how its possible to play it properly. the sound effects are good, but the voices are a little off. the control is pretty much the same as the neogeo version. while the button configuration is changed, the move list is the same. the only problem i have with it is the fact that the attacks appear in the corner of the screen, and they disappear after 2 seconds. this makes playing the game very annoying, because you have to constantly scroll back to the attack button, and the button configuration is the same as the neogeo version. all in all, the game is alright, but its nothing too special. 5ec8ef588b
