arnold’s character as the t-800 was supposed to be the main antagonist in terminator 3 but it was retconned into terminator 3: rise of the machines, where the t-800 is now a friend to the humans. terminator 2 takes place 3 years after the conclusion of the first movie. connor (edward furlong) is now 18 years old and in high school, and his mother sarah (linda hamilton) has just been released from a mental hospital. a machine soldier called the t-1000 (robert patrick) has come to kill him. this is the beginning of a two-hour action movie.
terminator 2 is the best of the three movies in the series, and it’s the one that likely will have the longest impression on the public. the movie takes place several years after the first one, following a boy named john connor. a newer, advanced cyborg, called the t-1000, is sent back in time to kill connor and it succeeds. this is almost a two-hour long action movie. rather than follow terminator 3, it retcons the original movie into the sixth sequel, terminator 3: rise of the machines.
