Elden Ring is an action RPG that was released in 1999 in Japan for the PlayStation, Dreamcast and PC. The success of the title and excellent story has been cited as an inspiration for the fantasy setting used in the Final Fantasy series. This game was remade as Elden Ring: Tarnished on Xbox 360 in 2007. It includes 1 new dungeon, new gameplay modes (including Hero mode), online play, and brand new graphics for Xbox 360. This port was released again in Japan in 2008 under the title Elden Ring [Elden Ring 20th Anniversary version]. A 3rd remastered version of Elden Ring Tarnished, released in Japan in 2013 and called Elden Ring ～Tensei Monogatari～ [Movie Version] (translates as “Elden Ring “The Story”) was released in limited edition. It includes new content such as 2 additional dungeons, a new raid mission, an added system to the mini games, an updated tutorial, and new music and in-game movies. This game is a true MMO that has multiple locations and quests. I’ve been on this world for awhile now and I have still yet to run out of stuff to do. There are plenty of different kinds of locations and I mean, we can’t forget the long dungeons, right? The game doesn’t make you solo to level up or the grind. You can level up and go on a quest to get loot and get your stats up faster. Once you get to level 40, you can engage in story quests or a hard mode. The game can be played in three different ways. First, if you want to travel back and forth to different places for a quest, you can do that. Second, if you want to fully immerse yourself in the world, you can run on your own quest to get a stronger sword and then go back to town to recuperate and heal. Third, if you want to build up your party and quickly change your classes, you can do that in town. There are plenty of items to buy and sell in town if you don’t want to be run over by a monster. The game is free to download and you can also buy the deluxe edition for $4.99. If you like action RPGs, this game is for you. IGN (10/17/16) – 5/10 While the tight combat system is much more enjoyable than the usual megadungeon searches, the large-scale world is limited in its strategic possibilities, and the combat is pretty repetitive.
