[YMMV] I’d probably say the range of items in the game’s starting area [Dragonlink] was much too large to fully explain in time without being too long. Obviously you’ll get far more than your starting gear in this game, but anything you find is something you will have to farm for fairly quickly. Even if you are just starting out early on in the game, I’d recommend getting as much as possible, because things like heirlooms and the like start adding value pretty early on. [YMMV] (Pretty much any melee character’s (not just fighters) movements weren’t smooth in cutscenes. You can reduce the amount of jank by forcing attacks to use an AI action or by pushing the config to make your character’s attacks do more of their own things.) [YMMV] Because of the way they go about altering control schemes and adding attacks to weapons, it doesn’t take much to prevent the game from generating attacks correctly on the player’s part. If I was to describe it simply, I’d say that their normal attacks (on a target with weapon type “2”) don’t generate any of the normal amount of stutter that you’d expect to see, but attack range wasn’t a problem. The game doesn’t explicitly let you know that you can control some things, but it’d be fine. And like, you know, most everything else in the game was fine. This is probably the part where you note that, like other games of this genre, the controls are simple and intuitive enough that you don’t have to spend too much time learning them. But if you do get confused or anything, a quick long press of the Y button will toggle the button’s state from “hold” to “unhold” and back again. [YMMV] The game goes through several modes, including a point score system, a jobs board, and roman-based “camps” (which can be run cooperatively with your friends). The jobs board appears to be there solely for humorous purposes. As an example of the kind of thing I’m talking about, some NPCs, in particular them getting hit by a wave of monsters, might spawn a little wave of damage of their own, and if you happen to have the item in your inventory that reflects a portion of that damage back to you, you may see more damage than your item would normally do.
