And this tool that came with the new app is also more important than the new perspective editor. It’s much easier to just use the parametric tool than trying to figure out how to use the perspective editor.

Maybe this comment is a little off topic but I did feel the same way about the parametric tool in the new update. I have used it a lot in the past. I feel much more powerful with this tool since I could quickly create ideas on the fly. In the past there was always a bit of a learning curve.

I don’t have much experience with Photoshop so I don’t have much to add to what others have already said. I experienced some issues with the release that affected my workflow, but I understand the need to roll out a major software release.

Nice review but after upgrading to LR5.2 RC I think performance is better than with LR4. Working on a project with 1500 D800 NEFs my impression is that the smart previews increase speed while working in the Developer mode – in Lib. mode however everything slows because the JPEG previews are used.
