The application module: The application module is usually the most important component of a smartphone, because it holds the main processor (controller chip) and all other subsystems needed for the smartphone to function. It also holds the display panel and in some models a WiFi module. The application module is generally manufactured by a contract manufacturer and soldered in the smartphone unit.
