Rockwell Drive Tools Serial Number

I just cloned our server to another Cluster and it appears that the disk serial number stayed the same. Also, Microsoft Sysinternals provides a free tool VolumeID to change the disk serial number

One of the reasons that I purchased the RSLogix 5000 device was to implement the security system that I have found on other sites regarding passwords. What a pain! Sigh, what a waste. But the reason why we had to secure our passwords is that we have to send information to a few different vendors and these vendors do not accept passwords.

Losing the serial number to an important piece of software is no fun. Hopefully, you were able to recover all your product keys with these tips. To protect yourself from losing them again, print them out or store them safely in a password manager like LastPass.

As I mentioned in my last blog, I purchased the RSLogix for use as an audit/security tool. However, the audit and security features are functioning only to some extent and this statement is fact based on a discussion with the technical support for RSLogix.
