i’ve gone as far as updating the antivirus to the latest version and deleting everything that says “darksiders” and starting over. i had the most luck with deleting the darksiders folder from the windows directory. i tried both types of updates in the beginning and now i’m stuck with the black screen.

darksiders ii not working on win10:
i have played the game on win10 before, but after the latest update (1.1 to 1.2) i can no longer play the game. the game just gets stuck after the initial start up. i will try the uninstall/reinstall fix, but if that doesnt work i will have to go back to win 7. im not the only one who is experiencing this issue, but the fix might work for me.

slightly off topic, but i have a problem when trying to install the patch i get the following messages:
“error modifying d:gamesdarksiders iiidarksiders3binarieswin64darksiders3-win64-shipping.exe” and other files such as “pakchunk0-windowsnoeditor.pak”, “pakchunk1-windowsnoeditor.pak”, “developmentassetregistry.bin”, “steam_api64.dll”

unzip the file to the directory of your choice. for example, if your minecraft directory is c:\users\username\appdata\local\darksiders, then the unzipped files will be located at c:\users\username\appdata\local\darksiders. note that the final folder name is not darksiders, but the directory name is darksiders. this is the name of the folder in which you’ll be able to find your cracked files.
