ever wondered what it would be like if the original gundam seed anime had been made by the creators of one piece? the goal of this project is to find out! to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the original series, the creators of one piece have remastered the series and created it in 16:9 widescreen format. the english voice cast remains the same as the original dub, but has been updated with the new dialogue. this enhanced remake of the original gundam seed is now available on viz.com and bandai namco.com.
in 2013, the legendary gundam series celebrated its 30th anniversary with an all-new feature film, gundam 00 . this is the first new gundam film in ten years and is a sequel to the 2004 film gundam: day of reckoning that was originally released on blu-ray in the us. though the two films are separate entities, the new film is set in the same universe as the original gundam series. the new film was directed by hajime yamamura, an anime veteran who also worked on the classic mobile suit zeta gundam and mobile suit gundam: the movie trilogy in addition to gundam 00 . the film stars banagher links (the boy from the original series) and is narrated by banagher’s childhood friend, athrun zala. the new film is set several years after the original series, showing the adventures of banagher’s childhood friend athrun zala as he becomes a war hero on the mobile suit zeta gundam. the new film is available on gundam.com and bandai.com.
