for my first historical fiction novel george vs bonny, i wanted to include the pp wars while keeping things fresh. no sports, please. so here it is. the wars go from 1894 to 1918 and alternate between the yamasee war and the palmer raids. the battles are drawn from a variety of sources, including ww1 and ww2, colonial wars, and the indian wars. the main characters are of spanish and native american descent, meaning it is a story of interracial and multiracial love.
while working on bonny’s pp wars, i started to figure out a formula for historical fiction. in george vs bonny pp wars, i invented an elaborate system to keep all of the characters in their typical ages and fields active in the wars. the story is set in england, but everything is happened in america. the only thing i did not do, is show any of it on the map.
while researching the wars, i came across a really good book, george versus the yamasee war, which is a science fiction book. so i thought, okay let’s change the story up a bit, and it can be a science fiction story in the past. in order to work within the dna of the book i decided to make it one of those books where it shifts to a different character the each war and gives to the reader a story about how the war affects the main character.
your task is simple. you need to read each of the english lines, and if the word is contained in the word list file, you should print out a corresponding number of stars. for instance, if “the” is in the word list, you should print out the number 7.
sorry for the delay in posting this challenge but i had some serious issues with my internet connection the last few days. so here we go. after i posted the preview challenge, i received a few really good emails, it’s nice to see that the challenge still was well received!
with the “evil” bonny removed, queen victoria was dead and the british were happy with the division of africa between them and the germans. the british no longer needed to fight for control over the niger and were content to leave the british trade to the uac in exchange for the french getting their sector. the french had taken over benin and were also controlling n’djamena in chad. both countries were easily protected by a land route to the sea. in spite of all that, neither france nor germany had a single oil palm plantation in africa by 1916. these facts indicate the lack of economic leverage both countries held in spite of their large mineral resources. both were beholden to powerful industrial interests and the royal nigerian company: here are a few tips about the action gameplay. try to keep an eye on both george and bonnie at all times. if one person is not paying attention, the other person may attack unexpectedly. aim your shot, and fire at the characters that you want to hit. click and hold the mouse button when you are aiming to let your cursor turn into a crosshair, which will move around to follow the muzzle of the gun. wait for your target to stop moving before you fire. you can also attack by holding down the space bar. this is useful if your target is moving and you need to hit multiple objects. the characters will do their best to hide behind your characters or other objects. try not to use your gun as a shield, as you will not be able to fire through it. it is best to use an object that is not a big deal to be destroyed, as your gun will not be useful against that. when you are waiting, your characters will say things such as “you should just leave now.”, “get out of here right now.” and so on. the characters will recover between each shot, so if you miss, they can get up and continue fighting. make sure to re-aim between shots. you can switch characters by right-clicking the character you want to switch to on the same row as the other character. do not play if you are claustrophobic or dislike violence. 5ec8ef588b
