i uninstalled the lxi vinylexpress software, and re-installed. i didn’t use the driver on the cd with my old software, but had downloaded another copy so it was on my computer. i installed the downloaded driver in compatibility mode back to windows 7, just as sachin instructed, but wanted to add that my cutter didn’t show up still, until i unplugged and re-plugged the usb from the cutter while it was on. as soon as i plugged the usb cable back in, the new com port showed up in device manager, and finally i could run a test cut. this is how you will be able to get free computer software for your nspire; forever. this only works if you haven’t already passed the trial version (30 days). if you have, then delete your windows registry keys, uninstall, and follow this guide. for windows users only! step 1: download your choice of n-spire student software here: (cx or cx cas). skip to step 2 if you already downloaded it. step 4: when the uninstall is complete, you will need to re-install the n-spire student software onto your computer. please refer to the n-spire student cd or dvd. do not install the software from the dvd/cd that you used before. step 5: when the n-spire student software is installed, it will need to be activated. please refer to the installation cd that you used previously. follow the activation instructions on the cd. the activation will take approximately 20-30 minutes. once the activation is complete, you will be able to use the n-spire student software and it will be working. please note that this product is not compatible with n-spire desk calculators. you can however use the n-spire desk software for recording changes on the vinyl cutter. thank you for supporting creaiton pcut. 5ec8ef588b
